Nordstrom launching 24/7 pick up service

Holiday is a key time for retailers, as customers are out to spend. In an effort to build on their customer service and keep holiday shoppers happy, Nordstrom is testing 24/7 Curbside Pickup at 10 of its locations nationwide leading up to Christmas.

Nordstrom customers who have placed a Buy Online & Pickup In-Store order can call or text their respective store's Curbside Pickup phone number at least 10 minutes before arriving. A Nordstrom employee will then get them their merchandise, no matter time of day or night. Yes, it truly is 24 hours.

While it might sound crazy, Nordstrom says that the service is projected to be in high demand.

"Customers increasingly want to shop where, how and when they choose and 24/7 Curbside Pickup is one service we're offering to support their experience," said Nordstrom senior vice president of customer experience Shea Jensen in a statement.

The retailer's 24/7 Curbside Pickup will run from December 16 to 24.

Nordstrom is still moving forward business as usual after their earlier plans this year to go private failed. With a tough retail climate facing them, Nordstrom is hoping the holidays will keep them in the black.
